International Ornithological Association
(COM-GB)

Affiliated to the Confederation Ornithologique Mondiale

One of the great advantages of being a member of the IOA is the opportunity to exhibit your birds at the World Show ,

an opportunity to represent Great Britain and hopefully win a medal ! No other avicultural  organisation in Great Britain

can offer this .

In 2009 the 57th World Championship (World Show ) is to held in Piacenza , northern Italy, imagine for one moment that you were on your own without the support and experience of the IOA , it would be virtually impossible , both financially and logistically ,  for the ordinary bird keeper to be able to exhibit at this event. Thankfully you are not on your own , the IOA collect your birds from local pick up points in the UK. , arrange all vets certificates , transport your birds to and from the World Show venue and feed and care for your birds whilst they are away. No doubt you will have already started to realise that the cost of such an operation will come to several thousands of pounds and if it were not for the generous sponsorship the IOA and its members recieve ,Team GB would consist of only those with deep pockets.

The IOA would like to take this opportunity to use this page to thank those who have provided sponsorship and to introduce you to Team GB.
